hello, and welcome ! My name is Kathy and here is my reading blog! I'll be posting all sorts of books I've been reading, and I'll be reviewing and recommending books as well!
Also, leave me a message if you have any recommendations of books/manga I should read! I'm more into the teen novels ahaha. Vampires/horror/war kind of books aren't really my type. Thanks for visiting!
I'm currently using this blog for school purposes, however I might keep updating this, especially with manga!
Leave me a message as well if you have any questions!
Dead bodies
Experiments on humans
And the plot twists are really interesting
Dark and dangerous
Romance!
Okay the headless and feetless and handless parts were sorta freaky
Main character is not someone I like very much. Seems annoying
A pretty good book for someone who hasn’t many proper novels in a while
Not a book that you would usually read. It’s very unique
Terrific storyline
Interesting biological facts that are sometimes mentions
Creepy at times
Alriight you probably can see that I sorta cheated a bit, but wow acrostics are so hard! Dead Romance was a really great book, I haven’t read a book like this, and I was impressed at how the author came up with some of the idea in the book.
It’s been a very long while since I have actually gone and read a proper novel, since manga basically took over in the middle of last year. So I decided to get myself a novel, and a friend happened to recommend a very good one!
Slammed is where the unexpected death of of 18 year old Layken’s father forces the troubled family to move to Michigan from Texas. Layken has bad first impressions of Michigan, she dislikes the change, and knows no one around the place.
Soon enough she meets a boy named Will, who at first she has no interest in, then develops into a deep connection. She finds out that he has a passion for slams, which is a weekly poetry club get together.
But not long after their brewing relationship, they discover a huge problem that stops their relationship from growing. Will happens to be one of Layken’s teachers at her new school. Interactions between them start to become impossible.
I LOVED this book, not only because of the romance but also because of the amazing poetry that is presented in the book. My personal favourite would be when Layken became frustrated at Will’s ignorant behaviour towards her when they first discovered they were teacher and student:
Mean.
According to the thesaurus…
and according to me…
there are over thirty different meanings and
substitutes for the word
mean.
Jackass, jerk, cruel, dickhead, unkind, harsh, wicked, hateful, heartless, vicious, virulent, unrelenting, tyrannical, malevolent, atrocious, bastard, barbarous, bitter, brutal, callous, degenerate, brutish, depraved, evil, fierce, hard, implacable, rancorous, pernicious, inhumane, monstrous, merciless, inexorable.
And my personal favourite - asshole.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves a cute romance and some awesome poetry, honestly. I’m so excited to go and borrow the second book, Point of Retreat. Hopefully it’s as good as this one!
